Frequently asked questions.
Will my pets be kenneled before/after grooming?
Yes. In order to create a safe and secure environment for all the pets and staff they are placed in a wire kennel when not being groomed. Every pet will have a fluffy blanket in their kennel with them and water is available.
Do you use cage dryers?
We use the appropriate method of drying for each individual pet based on hair type, breed, and behavior. Sometimes it is better to use this method on a dog that is showing signs of stress. Cage dryers have a very light air, which is often less invasive and a more calming way to dry. All cage dryers have a timer and will shut off automatically. If you have any concerns on this topic please talk with a grooming staff member when scheduling.
How much training do groomers receive?
All groomers at Green Collar are certified! We have a highly trained staff with over 30 years combined experience! As a group we attend continuing education classes to keep up on the latest information and never stop learning.
Will I have the same groomer everytime?
If you would like to have the same groomer every time for your pet's groom you must request that groomer when scheduling. We encourage our clients to have the same groomer work on their pet as they develop a relationship and routine with that person.
Why did you shave my dog when I wanted it longer?
Tangles and snarls are loose and usually occur at the top of the coat and are not tightly clumped together. For dogs that are not too sensitive, these can be brushed out. When tangles get out of control mats occur, forming tightly against the skin and are not able to be brushed out. Having the pets best interest, safety, and well being is our top priority- read more in our statement on Doodles.
How long will the groom take?
Grooms can take anywhere between 2-4 hours depending on breed, coat, age of dog and behavior. We want to give each dog the time they deserve to have a happy, healthy groom in our care. We are working with animals and need the flexibility to be able to take the extra time if needed for a pet. If you need your dog done by a certain time please talk with staff when booking an appointment.
